Depart Bangkok in the morning to Mahachai, the biggest seafood piers in the Gulf of Thailand. Stroll along the river towards the pier at the junction where Klong Mahachai
canal and the Ta Chine River converge to watch fishermen offload their catch big and small shrimps, myriad fish, cuttlefish, shellfish and other fruits of the sea. Deckhands slide baskets of seafood down from the boat into the hands of traders. There is one of the many frozen seafood plants in the area or to vendors at the fresh market just behind the pier. Continue to Mae Klong Railway Market. Walk around the market, then ready yourself for the hectic activities of the vendors along the railway tracks as a train approaches and witness its amazing. Then experiences as Kok Kam Community as a sea salt farm village and Santor Community as Bangkok coastline fisherman village. Visit a local sea salt farm at Kok Kham community. The local family that you will be visiting are very friendly people and are happy to provide you information on how to create a salt farm, the different types of salt and how salt is extracted from the sea water. (Depending on availability you may be able to walk on the top layer of the salt like in a natural foot spa). Then drive to pier for take a long tail boat to explore the beautiful natural mangrove forests to visit the Santor fisherman village. There are no roads connecting the village, which means that boat is the only way in. You will have a seafood lunch at a fisherman’s house, which is located on the water. You can also enjoy home cooking, cockles or crab picking, swimming and kayaking. Return to your Bangkok hotel in the middle of the afternoon.
